Frequently Asked Questions
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a powerful and time-tested form of therapy that works by accessing the subconscious mind—the part of you that holds deep beliefs, patterns, and emotional responses. When you’re in a relaxed, focused state (also known as hypnosis), your mind becomes more open and receptive to positive suggestions for change. In this heightened state of awareness, we can gently reprogram limiting beliefs, release emotional blocks, and support lasting transformation in thoughts, behaviors, and well-being.
How will hypnosis feel?
Believe it or not, you have been hypnotized on your own without even realizing. For example, when you are falling asleep, watching a movie, even driving - these are all naturally occuring hypnotic states. During our hypnotherapy session, you can expect to feel calm and relaxed, even as you enter a state of increased awareness.
What type of training have you had?
I have successfully completed an intensive 720-hour Clinical Hypnotherapy Program at an accredited hypnotherapy institution that offers the most extensive, comprehensive, and interactive hypnotherapy training available anywhere in the world today. Upon completion, I was awarded the Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Certified Hypnotherapist (C. Ht.) credentials through the American Hypnosis Association (AHA). I have additional certifications, including Certified Trauma Recovery Specialist and Certified Handwriting Analysis. I am a member of the American Hypnosis Association (AHA) and am fully insured through the American Professional Agency (APA).
Who is hypnotherapy for?
Any adult, adolescent, or child seeking healing, clarity, or change on a deeper level.
What can I expect?
• A brief check-in to set your intention for the session
• Gentle, guided hypnosis (you’ll remain aware and in control at all times)
• Techniques may include inner child work, trauma release, confidence building, or emotional rewiring

How long will a session last?
Your first hypnotherapy session will be 90 minutes. This extended time allows us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and explore your personal history so we can tailor the session to your unique needs. It also includes your first hypnotherapy experience, giving us space to move at a comfortable pace. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes. Once we’ve established a foundation, our ongoing work can be done effectively within a 60-minute session.
How are sessions held?
All of our sessions will be held via from the comfort of your own home via video call.
Do I need a medical referral?
The simple answer is no. If you are seeking hypnotherapy for any issues related to vocational or avocational improvement (ex: improving sleep, learning disorders, communication, relationships, quitting smoking, weight loss, career-related, etc…) you do not need a referral. When you want to address an issue regarding a psychological, medical or medically-related concern, you may need a referral from a mental health or medical professional. I can help you determine this before our first session.
What if I can’t be hypnotized?
Entering a hypnotic state requires only 3 simple elements:
1. a desire for change
2. giving yourself permission to go into hypnosis
3. the ability to follow simple instructions
If you can answer “yes” to these three requirements, you will effectively experience hypnosis
